Do I need a doctor's referral for Physiotherapy treatment?
No, Physiotherapists are first line practitioners, so you do not need a referral from your doctor.
Is the cost of Physiotherapy covered by medical aid?
Fees are structured according to the South African Society of Physiotherapy practice codes and vary according to each condition and treatment used. ICD10 codes are utilized to facilitate re-imbursement from your medical aid or insurance fund. We do not deal directly with any medical aid society.
You can expect to pay after every consultation and we accept internet banking and all major credit cards. We regret, no Diners Club or American Express cards are accepted.
Can I be treated under the Discovery Spinal Conservative Care Program?
Yes, Movement Solutions Physiotherapy is a member of the Discovery Spinal Conservative Care Program.
How long does each session last?
First session: 60 min
Thereafter approximately 45 minutes depending on your condition.
What should I wear?
The physiotherapist may need to see the affected body part. For back problems the physiotherapist may require you to undress to your underwear. The practice will provide you with shorts and gowns or you can bring your own.
Do you offer Tele consultations?
Yes. Many of assessment, treatment and coaching can be done remotely. Certain clients are consulted on a regular basis while travelling or living abroad.
What if I fail to attend my appointment?
We kindly request that you advise us 24 hours in advance should you require a cancellation. A penalty charge of 50% of the previous session may be billed for an uncancelled appointment. This fee will not be paid by the medical aid.
